When Z comes back to Cleveland tomorrow, he's not sure what the reaction is, and i don't blame him. He left the Cavs this summer to join Lebron. After we lost to the Celtics in the playoffs he decided to leave. Some may say he betrayed us, but i believe its the other way around. The Cavs gave up on Z when we got Shaq. Z was put on the bench. Then, on the day Z was supposed to break the Cavs all time most games played, he wasn't played. Then we traded him, nd when he returned, he rotted on the bench. That's not a way to treat a team record setting center. What do u think?

Jordan VS Lebron
http://www.examiner.com/pop-culture-in-omaha/michael-jordan-responds-to-lebron-james-rise-commercial
Everyone has seen the Lebron James "Rise" commercial, where he attacks Cleveland fans and asks, what he should do. In the commercial he takes a stab at Charles Barkley, and even the great MJ. He says "Should i just sell shoes, shiny new shoes?" Refering to the the real king of the court. So, as we all know, MJ has the heart of a champion and will not lay down to a kid. In 2008, MJ had already made a video called "Maybe its my fault..." Recently the two commercials were combined as a true diss to the man who took his talents to south beach. Below are links to the original Jordan video and a cleveland response.

Everyone knows the story of Mike Vick. He used to play for the Atlanta Falcons, and was then arrested for dog fighting. When he was released form jail, he rejoined the NFL on the Philadelphia Eagles. He is now the starter and arguably the greatest quarterback in the league. Many people do not believe that he deserved a second chance, but you can not deny his greatness on the football field. 2 weeks ago, his jersey worn on his Monday night performance was enshrined in the pro football hall of fame. Vick Threw for over 320 yards, ran for 80, threw 4 TDs and ran for 2 TDs. No quarterback in the history of the NFL has done that. I believe in 2nd chances, do you think he deserved one?

Limewire replacement options
So many of us loved using limewire or frostwire, but unfortunately it was shut down. Well you can use torrents, which is still illegal, and you cant use them here. But, for new music you may not have ever heard, or you may not hear for a while, datpiff.com is a great website. It is basically a website with free mixtapes and if you make music you can put up some of yours as well. Its legal and you can download at school. All you have to do is sign up.
If you like Rap, here's a couple mixtapes from people i know, they are really good.

According to NPR Bill Clinton Is excited to see Lil Wayne go back to making music. He told NPR that his daughter got him into rap. I find this interesting because its not common that you see the president listening to rap. When you think of Bush, you definitely don't think of rap, you think of country. Its well known that Obama likes Jay-z , but still, its not everyday that a former president is excited that a rapper leaves jail.

NFL Concussion Dilemma
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5702673
Lately the NFL has had some major issues with concussions. This isn't the first time we've heard about this. In fact, last off-season the NFL worked hard on precautions to reduce concussions. Unfortunately, there have been 40 concussions so far this season. The plan is to now suspend players that cause malicious and devastating hits. The NFL has begun its new policy and has fined multiple players from last weeks head-hunting brigade. Many players have said, especially on the defensive side, that its just the way football is played and that you should expect to be injured. They are also saying that it should be renamed the NFFL (National Flag Football League) because of how soft the rules are forcing players to be. This could go either way, but ironically, these are the same players that are appose to a 18 game season, saying it would be to hard on the players physically. I'm having a hard time believing them, if injuries are part of the game, then play 2 more. They're really concerned that the number of games could increase, but their salary would stay the same, and in most cases for upcoming rookies, decrease.
Hitting Home:
James Harrison, from Kent State, who plays for the Steelers, knocked out two key players to the Browns offense; Josh Cribbs, and Mohamed Massaqiou. He led with his helmet on both plays but wasn't called for a penalty. Another thing to worry about as a browns fan, T.J. Ward, our hard hitting rookie safety, who has shined, may become a little less useful. Of course he's a great player and has come up hue for us before, but because he's a rookie, he may ease off his explosiveness. Because of the new suspension policy, he could be afraid to make a play, only because he lacks experience. As for Harrison, i hope he gets suspended next week, because you can be sure the refs will be looking for him.

Julia - 1984
I think Julia really adds to the story. Shes so different from Winston, yet they are both against the Party. I think the face that she refuses the party and continues to rebel is actually the way a character should act. Where Winston is very discrete, Julia is very open about her rebellion, which is surprising. The reason i think that's how characters should be in books like this is because it shows major rebellion. I was raised by a hippie so maybe I'm a little bias. Regardless, i think that if all the characters in the book were like Julia, one of two things would happen. Either they would take over the Party, or they would end up like Brave New World and constantly have sex and take drugs all day...

1984
So far I have mixed feelings towards the book. One of the things that bothers me is the lack of understanding. There are a lot of things that don’t make sense. For example, how can he do some of the things he does of he’s always being watched? I also dislike how he is the only one who feels the way he does toward the city. It was apparent from the beginning that the book would be similar to Fahrenheit 451. The good thing about that is that it was a great book and I am interested to see the differences between the two. Books about utopias or “distopias” really grab my attention. Books like The Giver, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, they all have that same feeling of ‘how is this person going to get out of this life?’ Its really a great idea and keeps you thinking throughout.

Paper Topic Blog
I am very aware that its late and probably worthless in point value, but i figured it was worth a shot. I spent this entire weekend looking for anything to write a paper on, and finally, i just gave in picking anything, considering the amount of time i have.

These two links will bring you to pages talking about the economy, and how big businesses are reluctant to create jobs. The one from CNN talks about how there are good reasons for businesses to hold off. The new york times on the other and is fed up.
In my opinion they need to create jobs, with the amount of money being made, it is necessary to stimulate the economy.

Panthers, Pumas. Whatever you call 'em they are bigger than you.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=130078633
This article talks about how in 1995 the amount of panthers in Florida was an alarming 25. They were all suffering of different birth defects due to inbreeding. The cats were expected to be extinct by 2020. With the help of a breeder, they took pumas from Texas and put them into contact with the panthers in Florida. The result 15 years later was a new species of panthers that are stronger than ever.
This article really made me happy to know that you can help keep a species of animal if the right people get involved. A lot of people aren't aware of the different types of cats in America, so the fact that it only took 15 years to rebuild one was amazing to me.

Class Post, Speeches
My opinions are a little mixed. I prefer not to get into arguments about politics, because as everyone knows, no one thinks they are wrong. To be honest, we’re all wrong. That is because there is no right answer
I guess as far as Bush goes, he says things he doesn’t quite understand. Not that I blame him, I don’t understand it either. Bush’s speeches were powerful, but also off. I feel like he used false evidence do get done what he wanted done, and so do a lot of people, but that doesn’t make it right. There are people that say he invaded Iraq to finish what his father started, and I believe it. The problem is that may not have been the case. With a country split like that, it can cause a lot of problems for the president, problems I don’t think Bush could handle.
Obama is a magnificent speaker. Every time he talks, everyone listens and loves what he has to say. Obama’s speeches may be about negative things, but he always makes you walk away feeling inspired, and ready. He continues his slogan for “Hope” even in rough times, which is why I think people admire him, and his speeches.
When 9/11 hit, I don’t think any of us in this class were fully aware of what happened. I know that I was upset I couldn’t watch my favorite shows because the same footage was being shown for weeks. Now that I am older, I understand these things. I feel dumb for how I acted, but like I said I didn’t understand.
I think 9/11 will forever be known as on of America’s worst tragedies, but it will also be known as one of the days that everyone in this country came together, and there was no hate between us, we were all the same, and I think that was the best thing to come out of the disaster.
We talked about being on planes with other passengers that were Muslim. When I was little I used to fly every summer by myself to North Carolina to go to the beach and see my uncle. It was a little scary knowing about what happened with 9/11, but to be honest, I felt better knowing that we have such sophisticated security now, that I wasn’t entirely worried.
As far as the mosques go, I don’t really have a problem with them building one in New York. I don’t understand the problem. There is no reason why they shouldn’t be allowed to put one there, its not on ground zero, and its not like were putting an Afghan Embassy there, it’s a community center. I feel like if we have freedoms, and they live here, they have freedoms, end of story.

When 2 year olds smoke weed, you know everyone's doin it
http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/09/16/ohio.toking.toddler/index.html?eref=mrss_igoogle_cnn
So apparently its not ok to teach your two year old daughter how to smoke week. Someone might want to inform this woman because she's facing 11 years in jail. After reading this article i was completely disgusted. First of all, the face that you can teach a baby how to smoke is ridiculous, on top of that, recording it and thinking its funny is even worse. How stupid must you be to put that out for people to see. Why would you want to be known as a bad mother, and not just a bad mother who lets their kids do drugs, but the one who taught them to do so. It makes me sick when i see people like this. I honestly dont believe they deserve to live, not only is it harmful, its idiotic. I hope this lady get all 11 years and i hope her baby has a long successful life and never meets this terrible woman again.

Dont open your email
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/09/09/beware-link-e-mail-virus-plays-havoc-internet/?test=latestnews
According to this article, there has been a massive computer virus sent through email. Basically when you go to you eamil and the sublect line says "here you have," which in my mind is a little suspicious. Well you may be asking, why whould i open an email like this from someone i dont know? You wouldnt, which is why the virus attacs your adress book. When you open the email and click the link it automatically sends the virus to everyone in your contacts, which is why you opened an email from someone you already know.
Even though this may seem ridiculous, it has hit major agencies such as NASA and even the Department of Homeland Security. Now to me, i think the fact that people who run this country have problems with an email virus, is not a good thing. If they fall for this, what else could they fall for? If they fall for this Trojan Horse, what if the Taliban make their own horse, and trick us. What if the point of this virus is to shut down Homeland Security and leave an opening for attack? And what if Lebron stayed home and played for the Cleveland Cavaliers? These questions are ridiculous, as is the fact that people dont know how to disregard a link and sketchy subject line. I guess the moral is, don't be stupid.

Love to Hate The President
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=129698830
This article really jumped out at me, almost saddened me, and really made me think. Everyone knows that presidential approval ratings drop during a presidency. It just happens. Why? Why do we always love to hate the president. Is it the face that we think there should be an easy button on their desk, or that we change our opinion when one thing he does is against our beliefs. Now as far as Obama goes, i am on the fence, as i was when he was elected. I love his ideas, i hate his budget. Now we can argue all day about politics and who is better, but at the end of the day is it true; do we always hate the president. The same people who hated Bush, hate Obama. That's not necessarily stating all people, but the majority of the people in the United States love to hate. It really is an awful thing to be in a high position because you can try your hardest but you will never be good enough. I personally wish we could find a way to make everything work, but i know it will never happen, so for the rest of the USA's existence, we will hate our leader.
