Dont open your email

http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/09/09/beware-link-e-mail-virus-plays-havoc-internet/?test=latestnews

According to this article, there has been a massive computer virus sent through email. Basically when you go to you eamil and the sublect line says "here you have," which in my mind is a little suspicious. Well you may be asking, why whould i open an email like this from someone i dont know? You wouldnt, which is why the virus attacs your adress book. When you open the email and click the link it automatically sends the virus to everyone in your contacts, which is why you opened an email from someone you already know.

Even though this may seem ridiculous, it has hit major agencies such as NASA and even the Department of Homeland Security. Now to me, i think the fact that people who run this country have problems with an email virus, is not a good thing. If they fall for this, what else could they fall for? If they fall for this Trojan Horse, what if the Taliban make their own horse, and trick us. What if the point of this virus is to shut down Homeland Security and leave an opening for attack? And what if Lebron stayed home and played for the Cleveland Cavaliers? These questions are ridiculous, as is the fact that people dont know how to disregard a link and sketchy subject line. I guess the moral is, don't be stupid.

  1. I think this is a good representation of how technology, while a normally wonderful thing, can be a dangerous thing that not alot of people fully understand how to comprehend its power and use. The people who do grasp every aspects of technology have alot of power over others. To me the internet is a very elusive, sneaky place where nothing seems tangable and therefor is suceptable to being messed with. I am disappointed, but not suprised, at this sort of thing happening.
